Stuart Adamson
Stuart has worked in the equestrian world for many years gaining a vast amount of experience. He worked in Hong Kong for the Royal Hong Kong Jockey Club along side being the chief instructor for the riding for the disabled.
After leaving Hong Kong Stuart returned to England where he continued in the racing industry as a work rider along with backing young horses and re-educating problem horses along with running his own horse transport business.
After deciding on a change of scenery he moved to show jumping getting employment with one of Britains top riders Michael Whittaker as a driver /rider spending many months on the road in Europe attending some of the greatest shows in the world before being offered a job with Robert Smith another top international British rider. He continued with Robert riding and driving across Europe and the uk attending the horse of the year show, Olympia, European championships to name just a few.
Stuart started up Poplars Farm in 1999 as a livery yard and stud where he bred several of his own horses one of which he produced himself and was selected for the World Class Equine Pathway. Stuart has competed to grand prix show jumping level and has also competed at dressage on behalf of clients. He continues to compete on the jumping circuit whilst producing his home bred young horses and is willing to produce horses on behalf of clients.
Jenny Smith
Jenny has also worked in the equestrian world for many years after leaving school. She started her career with horses at a warwickshire riding school where she learnt her skills and worked with the riding for the disabled
She moved onto a job close by with Julia Tooth who headed up Tooth racing. Here she became not only a groom but a work rider too, and at times taking sole charge of the yard. She also become the travelling groom for Julia’s husband Brian Smiths show jumpers.
After Robert Smith moved from Essex to warwickshire Jenny’s talents were noticed and was quickly offered a job working the national circuit for Robert and the young show jumpers.
In 1999 Jenny moved to Poplars Farm with Stuart. Here she was able to purchase her first young horse to produce for dressage and has competed successfully up to medium level and trains up to prix st. George. Jenny is the yard manager at Poplars Farm dealing with the day to day needs of both horse and client.
She has also become a qualified Nvq assessor and is a certified equine nutritionist. Jenny now has a lovely young horse which is home bred which she is planning on producing again for the dressage circuit.
BHS Approved Livery Yard
Poplars Farm Livery Yard & Stables is a BHS Approved livery yard which has been established since 1999.
